Strings is a Pakistani rock band formed in 1988 by four college students. The group released their debut album, Strings, on April 26, 1990, which featured the hit single "Duur".
Written and composed by Bilal Maqsood and Faisal Kapadia, the song became an instant classic across South Asia due to its catchy lyrics and melody. The band's lineup includes lead vocalist/guitarist Bilal Maqsood, guitarist/backing vocalist Faisal Kapadia, bassist Rafiq Wazir Ali, and drummer Kareem Bashir Bhoy. Over the years, the band has gone on to become one of the most successful bands in Pakistan, with numerous awards and nominations for both their music and live performances. Their latest album, 30, was released on August 7, 2020, featuring the single "Duur" as well as other fan favorites such as "Sar Kiye Yeh Pahar" and "Dhaani".
