Los Bukis was a Mexican band formed in the late 1970s by cousins Marco Antonio Solís and Joel Solís. The band released their debut album, Una Noche Como Esta, in 1979 on Fonovisa Records.
The record featured ten tracks of romantic ballads typical of the era's regional Mexican music genre. All songs were written by lead singer Marco Antonio Solís and arranged by Los Bukis' guitarist Juan Carlos Calderón. Other members included drummer Jorge Luis Piloto, bassist Javier Rosas, keyboardist Salvador Rizo, and saxophonist Enrique Elizondo. Una Noche Como Esta spawned several hit singles including “Y Ahora Te Vas”, “Tengo Miedo”, and “Me Volví A Acordar De Ti”. These melodic lyrics are still remembered today as some of the greatest love songs ever written in Spanish. Los Bukis' exquisite musicianship and heartfelt lyrics have made them one of the most beloved bands to come out of Mexico. Una Noche Como Esta is considered a classic in its genre and remains an iconic representation of traditional Latin American music.
