Apolas Lermi is a Turkish folk music band from the Black Sea region. Their most popular song, Ağarsar (Horon), was released in 2012 on their debut album, İzlenimler.
The genre of the song is Horon, a traditional style of folk dance and music that originated in the Trabzon province of Turkey. Apolas Lermi consists of four members: lead vocalist Süleyman Ersoy, bass guitarist Kadir Şahin, percussionist Hasan Yılmaz and guitar player Ömer Güneş. The lyrics for Ağarsar were written by Süleyman Ersoy and they tell the story of a young man who falls in love with a beautiful woman but cannot have her due to his family’s objections. With its catchy chorus and upbeat rhythm, the song quickly became a fan favorite.
